I’m a lifelong learner interested in exploring topics related to healthy living. This includes food, fitness, quality relationships, and meaningful work.
I grew up on the east coast, spent my college years in the Midwest, and moved to the Bay Area in 2009. Beginning my career as a product manager for software companies, I developed a passion for using technology to bring people together, helping them foster deep and meaningful relationships they otherwise would never have developed.
I’ve always had an personal passion for how food and fitness can lead to a better quality of life, and eventually changed the course of my career to help people lead healthier lives by providing greater access to real food. I co-founded and currently operate Kitava, a clean casual restaurant concept serving Modern American cuisine with a local twist. We specialize in making real food everyone can enjoy, with hearty meals centered around nutritious veggies, healthy fats, and mindful proteins.
My hobbies include reading, learning, traveling, and staying physically active (primarily weight training, running, and cycling these days). I also love sports, and their power to teach valuable life lessons.
I believe life is a constant quest to become a more perfect version of ourselves, a task we will never truly accomplish but should always strive for. Constant personal improvement and self-actualization are crucial components to making life worth living, but should be balanced with a contentment for the present moment I’m still learning to develop. Much of my thinking lies at the intersection of these topics, which I try to explore in my reading and writing.
